Levowan is one of East Cornwall's newest chamber choirs only consisting of 12 members and a full time accompanist. Since being established in 2014 by Musical Director Marcus Alleyne, Levowan have been hosting three concerts per year in and around East Cornwall, and have this year decided to extend into Devon and Mid Cornwall. Although they focus on a more classical repertoire, Levowan are also keen to perform contemporary pieces and have this year been enjoying music by Dan Forrest, Will Todd and John Cornish.

Keeping in line with founder and director Marcus Alleyne's ethos Levowan are known for delivering concerts for free in an attempt to keep music live and accessible to all who want or need it. They are occasionally joined by the L7 ensemble which is made up from local instrumentalists and are very much looking forward to their first Proms Concert on Friday 30th June at St. Lalluwy's church Menheniot. They have this year migrated from their home venue due to 3 consecutive capacity audiences. They are privileged to have the wonderful Mark Smith as their piano and organ accompanist.

Shekinah is celebrating 25 years of supporting those most vulnerable in our communities.

From humble beginnings in 1992; a group of pioneering volunteers opened the doors of the Bath Street Mission in Plymouth to those who were homeless and in crisis.

25 years on, it is sad to say that there is still a desperate need for Shekinah’s services.

Come and join us in celebrating Shekinah’s Silver year.
